Understanding what you need for funding, can be a difficult task.  Underestimating your funds could cause problems when your company needs funding the most. Having to go back for more money undermines your credibility.

Obtaining more capital than you need can cause problems because if you have money you tend to spend it.

So make sure you do a cash flow projection and then add 10% or 20% for unforseen events.

If you are not good with finances have an accountant do it for you.
